stimulus money is on the way to put more cars on the road, cars that run on electricity. >> the pace is about to pick up at this sprawling transmission plant in white marsh. general motors is receiving $105 million in federal stimulus funds to develop components for electric cars, the largest of 48 brands, including the $2.4 billion earmarked for new technology in the auto industry. >> i don't know if it adds a lot of jobs, but it provides some stability for white marsh. certainly those employees are looking for stability. almost anybody is looking for stability in this economy. >> especially the plant employees, most of whom were furloughed for two months this year. vice president joe biden predicts the initiative will revitalize the american automakers. >> the future success of the electric cars relies a better batteries, better drive trains, better integration of the two.
